Schlage is so much better than Kwikset, especially their crappy Smartkey rekeying foolishness.

I've been super happy with kwikset for years.
Can you expand on your thoughts and explain why you prefer Schlage? I need to do a 4 exterior door install of a deadbolt system, and got in kwikset pads this week, so id be happy to give it another thought and compare before installing

I just think that Schlage is higher quality. The 1 time I installed one of the Kwikset Smartkey locks it failed in less than 1 year.

When I changed the door hardware in my house I bought all of the keyed handles and dead bolts from Ferguson Home and they keyed them all alike.

I agree Schlage products are generally better longer-lasting.

Agree. I've had both. Schlage is so much better.

Just going to leave this here. Lock picking lawyer defeats the Camelot lock with a 3v battery with wire ends stuck between the numbers.

I have this lock now and replacing it after seeding this video and would suggest anyone who cares about security to work on finding a ANSI 1 certified lock.

I've had two of these fail. Some stupid plastic piece on the inside breaks over time and won't allow the device to unlock when pulling the handle.

If you do buy, just keep the key handy, you will eventually need to use it.

I've had mine since 2016 and haven't had any issues except replacing the battery.

I have had 4 of the manual electronic Schlage locks (punch in code and turn knob to lock or unlock). They are very solid and have a high quality feel. However... 3 of them have eventually failed in what appears to be a well documented flaw with a spring inside. They became harder and harder to lock or unlock (the knob would just spin). It soured me a bit on Schlage, as they offered me no support on the matter
