I am here to also mention that everyone is too hyperbolic with the arm hate. Arm works well 99% of people. I have a software engineer and rarely have any issues. My biggest issue was chrome, which is suppose to work well on arm, would default to x86 and cause it to freeze up for seconds at a time. I switch to edge and that has been resolved. Also for usb comments, I have many usb devices attached via multiple docks. They all work well, actually better than some x86 laptops. My usb camera, keyboards, mice, speakers, headset, and video adapter work well. Also, my snapdragon is a 1st Gen pre-order. So, dont let everyone scare you. I quite enjoy it, but a very select few may have troubles.

Its absolutely misleading comment. What you are saying is just wrong. Windows on ARM is perfectly fine for 99.99999% users. You are just parroting the same old nonsense.

Just read what IT professionals say about current Windows on ARM devices.

x86 is just dead for laptops. and its for good reason.
Is that why the x86 version of a Surface Pro costs 2x as much as the ARM version? 🤣🤣🤣 People are literally willing to pay 2x for the x86 version!!! Being on a platform that's less than 1% of the installed base is dumb!

Hate to break it to you, but x86 Surface Pro is not 2x the ARM version. Microsoft's own current pricing: Surface Pro with Snapdragon X Elite starts at $999, X Plus at $1,099, and the Intel SKUs land in the exact same band — sometimes cheaper than the X Plus. Your entire premise is wrong.
And even if it were 2x… since when does "costs more" prove a platform is better? A Mac Pro costs 4x a Mac Mini. By your logic everyone buying the Mini is dumb.
The "<1% installed base" line is also doing a lot of work. Apple Silicon was 0% in 2019 and is now the dominant ARM PC platform on the planet. Canalys projects ARM at ~30% of total PC shipments by end of 2026. Snapdragon X2 Elite is reviewing 24% ahead of Intel Panther Lake on single-core. Today's snapshot isn't the trend.
Maybe lay off the 🤣 and read past the price tag.

The way computer prices are going, this is practically just the cost of the SSD and RAM.

I can add to the others vouching for this. I bought one at launch and have enjoyed it generally. The standby battery life is wonderful and it handles pretty much all I throw at it. I don't really go too hardcore, though, like the most intense gaming I do on it is Balatro and the most intense productivity I have on it is working in VS Code to build some light python scripts. But I also wouldn't have expected a thin and light like this to handle like LabView or anything like that.
The couple caveats I'll say is that Lenovo has had some weird issues with the GPU drivers where you can render an x86 application with no effort, but decoding YouTube videos would stutter and drop every few frames. They seem to have fixed it, and I think this was exclusive to something Lenovo did with this device. The other one is that when I was hacking a Switch, the libusbK driver did not work with Win on ARM. I needed to grab an older x86 device to finish that job. In general? as long as you're a touch tech-y, this is a really good deal. If not, stick with x86 for a little longer.

i had purchased 4 devices (whole family) over the past 2 years. All in all, I was very impressed. Until we started working on Claude Cowork. (Not supported on ARM) Also, when you open the lid, it takes about 30 sec before it is fully connected online and you can browse. This is annoying. Other than that, it is an awesome machine. Last month, we switched everyone over to an m5 macbook air and we couldn't be happier. I'm selling all 4 of these on eBay now because I got a great deal on the Macbooks for $949. The neo is also worth considering for someone looking for a new laptop. The switch to MacOS has been smooth, seemless, and actually kind of fun. All apps are available on MacOS not like in the past. When you press print, it prints instantly, when you press anything it just happens instantly. No ads, copilot, junk, mcafee, or any of that.
