This Yoga Slim 7x stands out as a thin, light Windows laptop with excellent battery life, a gorgeous 14 inch OLED touch screen, and strong everyday responsiveness. It is praised for office work, web browsing, streaming, and light creative tasks, with some reports that DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, Steam, and even a few games run well. The main caution is Windows on ARM compatibility, especially for drivers, printers, USB peripherals, niche apps, and some developer tools. It feels best suited to general use and portability, not demanding software or hardware-heavy workflows.

hello guys, am new here and want to know if this is a good laptop? is this new technology? any help woudl be appreciated. I dont really care for touch screen. I asked AI and it said its a really good deal but am not sure as am not tech savvy at all. I need it for office work but they said some apps will need an emulator to work?

is this better or this:

Got this one. I needed something that I could move around easily (Weight Starting at 1.28kg / 2.82lbs) . I'm sending my current laptop to an engineer cousin in the Philippines, and my tablet to some other cousin. This will replace my laptop and my tablet as I'm getting old and mainly use my devices for browsing tech and social media. I also use linux, so let the CHALLENGE BEGIN ! Note: The ID.ME did not get any more discounts. Pretty sure this coupon code negates that.

Seems fine for everyday use cases but wouldn't do it if you're a dev or need a lot of applications. ARM on Windows sounds like a nightmare

This Lenovo Slim 7x is much better than the Acer in terms of the build quality and screen quality. This is actually a good deal. For office use, web browsing, remote dev, and similar use cases, it should be great. However, if you want to run very specific engineering or specific domain applications (like some DJ'ing software), or play medium or high-end games, it is not the best choice because of WoA and its low-end GPU.

Can you give me one LOGICAL reason as to why? This isn't for gaming.

No fingerprint scanner which is a dealbreaker for me. I use it frequently to log into websites.

I'm typing from this right now - got it a couple weeks ago on the same deal. It was to replace a MacBook Air M4 - verdict? THIS PRICE IS AN ABSOLUTE STEAL. I would absolutely call this a fantastic MacBook air replacement for Windows.
Pros
Monitor is amazingly beautiful
I haven't run into ANY of the compatibility issues
Plays Phasmophobia and other games with 0 issues, but I'm not a FPS snob either

Cons
Gets much hotter than the MacBook did when gaming

Seriously, for the price, buy this while you can. I assume they're getting rid of overstock because of people who hear ARM and run, but this acts like a normal laptop for me.
Some programs I use daily:
Office Suite
Steam
Google Drive (You do have to download an ARM specific one) Otherwise, works the same.
Photoshop

No way i would get a computer where i couldn't install linux, hard pass.
2026 is the year worst year to buy a laptop
After the AI bubble pops and prices crash, that's when we buy.

Bought this on another front page deal when Best Buy was selling used ones for 4-500. I got a fair one for like 4 that was in great condition, and for my use case it's more than enough, the screen is really nice, speakers are decently loud, facial recognition works great, etc, but I'm not a developer, looking to play Black Myth:Wukong at ultra high levels, 4k editing and stuff, so your mileage may vary.
