Be glad to:
1) Picture: Panasonic's processing is top of the food chain in displaying a natural CINEMATIC picture that doesn't make me wince, close my eyes or have to dig into settings straight out of the box. Japanese (Sony/Panasonic) natural picture prowess is second to none when it comes to being able to present the picture the way it is in real life not the extreme hyper colors that isn't factual in any dimension.

So when I hooked up my Z8B after getting the C5 a few months earlier & able to put it side by side - straight out of the box running the same content (1080p Blue Rays & Apple TV 4K) I could clearly see that even in Filmaker, Cinema or Professional mode, the LG still looked artificial. Yes C5 is brighter vs. the Z8B but while brightness adds that HDR-ness to highlights (C5 does this good for sure), it shouldn't be bright all the time - like in a dark scene. This does not mean the Z8B isn't bright, it is more than bright enough in most conditions esp. if you need it in Vivid mode or AI mode in a non-shaded room. It's bright when it should be bright.

2) Motion Handling: the Z8B is as close to the iconic Panasonic Plasmas in terms of smooth buttery motion for all content as you can get in any 4K LED or OLED. Whether streaming, cabling or casting - all motion are natural not stuttery.

3) Build Quality: the Z8B is a tank. It's heavy ~97 lbs. vs. C5's 52 lbs but the panel will never bend if your kid bumps into it or you are unboxing it (all real life scenarios on reddit). The Z8B's electronics will not putz out - like many complaints about Samsung/LG OLEDs - just like my 13 yr old Panasonic plasma in the guest room upstairs has been bulletproof.

4) Upscaling: I play most of my live TV through Comcast's 720p feed to a 1080p TiVo where Panny upscales that picture to simulated 4K putting new life into my TiVo. While the C5 in some scenes look fabulous upscaling in other times it felt like it was hunting around for a sharper picture and thus makes things wose.

5) Color: Punchy vibrant colors with any increase in luminance or a higher picture mode. But the colors never look dull even the lower picture modes thus keeping the picture natural looking. LG colors - on the other hand - are punchy in any picture mode which I suspect is its brightness advantage but will make the picture look fake and cartoony in situation when it shouldn't be.

*) Smart User TV Interface: FireTV is integrated with the TV settings effectively and it is no worse than any other content streamer esp if you turn off auto play + auto audio to make the Prime TV ads not noticeable. There is 2 layers to do this: on Panny side & on FireTV side. WebOS on the C5 is clunky and takes many clicks to do what u want but again just another built-in content streamer with A LOT more ads than the FTV.

*) Z8B's built in sound bar is very good for TV audio - and has different environmental settings to fine tune your taste. This is really helpful if you are trying to save up front money for audio equipment esp.when it is flexible enough to add a sub with just an RCA plug for addl punch.

I have both the 77" Z8BAP and the 65" S90F.

I would go with the S90F if your room gets a decent amount of natural light and you already have a solid sound system.

The Z8BAP is a better fit for more light controlled rooms or evening/nighttime viewing. The built in audio is great for TV speakers, and you can add a subwoofer to it.

There's more to consider than this, but when deciding between these, the room im putting the TV in was the deciding factor for me.

I find it a little hard to believe the built in sound bar would be equivalent to a $500+ sound bar. But I've never heard it. Just seems a little too good to be true.

why is this a front page deal? personal at best in my opinion. $1000 recent sold listing on ebay
That $1000 sold listing is a scam. Look at seller - zero reviews. Very common

Not only that but when I was doing research before I bought mine I found out that for some reason Beach Camera is the only company that's selling Panasonic in the US, so I highly doubt a gray market one happened to show up.

It's very silly to buy this over an LG OLED.

That is false Value Electronics was the first to sell the Panasonic Oleds in the U.S. and they still do.
Value Electronics is also host to the yearly TV shoot outs

Not really. We still have the Panasonic VT65 Plasma going strong in one of the rooms ( bought in 2012 ) with zero image retention and it's been abused to no end!!

Panny panels were top notch, and likely still are worship I'm glad to see'em back in the US market!

I ordered this tv through best buy a day before the $100 price drop, and then the next day it drops $200! Unable to cancel order or a price match, but I was able to get a partial refund from beach camera. Oh well. Still excited to see how this compares to my 65" LG c1.
