They have a "brand mystique." Top quality, but not worth more than 60 buxx IMHO. They're much cheaper at thrift stores.

Costco has "Staub 7-Quart Cast Iron Braise and Grill", which is similar thing with the stupid lid, for $200. They are comparable quality, Staub has black interior which you may or may not prefer. And, of course, stupid grill lid while still functional is less convenient.
And 7-quart Staub Cocotte with normal lid is ~$300 on Amazon.
