Is there the usual risk of having the subscription taken over by Amazon and making it harder to stack codes purcahsed elsewhere?
Woot listing says:
"You'll receive a redemption code (serial number, a 25-character, alphanumeric serial number for each program) allowing you to instantly download the program for your desktop or laptop device."
Never bought from Woot (an Amazon company) for this. It's been easy to buy from Newegg or others to stack years. Since M$ raised the price it seems $90 is the most common price. Trying to hold out for a rare $80 for 15 mo.

FWIW I stacked several years using this and Newegg nordvpn combos and then added the last year as premium at half off from the main MS page where you add the product keys. It converted all the years to premium earlier this week.

I accidentally converted my 365 to Amazon, is this just the easiest way for me to stack on that?

It's woot but there doesn't seem to be any indication that it's for a subscription managed by amazon

bought two personal versions and converted them to family two weeks ago. I'm paid up until 2030 now.
I just put in the codes sent via email.

The "catch" is that it's a 5 year old product.

The lifetime of the product, M$ stops supporting it, but if you can run it on your computer you can use it.

Brave says... Microsoft Office 2013 and Microsoft Office 2016 have officially reached their end of support. Office 2013 stopped receiving security updates on April 11, 2023, while Office 2016 (including the Mac version) reached its end of support on October 10, 2023 (for Mac) and October 14, 2025 (for Windows).
Key details regarding these end-of-life (EOL) perpetual licenses:
  • License Validity: The perpetual licenses remain valid indefinitely; users can continue to use the software offline, but they will not receive further security patches, bug fixes, or technical support.
  • Security Risks: Using these versions exposes systems to unpatched vulnerabilities, particularly if processing untrusted documents or connecting to the internet.
  • Cloud Connectivity: Microsoft does not guarantee connectivity to Microsoft 365 cloud services (such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams) for these older clients, and compatibility may degrade over time.
  • Office 2019 Status: Office 2019 for Mac also ended support on October 10, 2023. Office 2019 for Windows is scheduled to reach end of support on October 14, 2025.

Microsoft does still offer perpetual licenses and there will be no catch if you purchase them from Microsoft or licensed distributors.
However, the ones sold on Woot, Groupon, StackSocial, etc. are gray market keys, and will eventually be blacklisted.

if you dont need specific microsoft features use Libreoffice. Its free and open source and does 100% of what normal people need.

Used Massgrave awhile back. Been working flawlessly. Just sayin. Gone are the days when I give two shits about big business.

Forget about Office. For me, this is about 1TB of storage for $90/yr which is pretty good IMO
