Good for occasional watch or gift for young kids, I assume the plastic is very cheap shell type. Old days' casio is no more, they are cutting a lot of corners to make cheap hallow watches, their old good watches are now on par with g-shock. I bought two recently of similar design one regular and one g-shock, and g-shock version is much better looking, feeling and functional.
However, there is another twist, even within same g-shock model, different retailers sell different versions. So bad.. I got one from Amazon, few weeks later my brother found one at Walmart, and his light is like tiny bulb on side, mine is complete illumination backlit.. he paid similar too but did not pay attention to a single digit or something at the end of the model.

Casios are faked quite often. Amazon and Walmart both have 3rd party/marketplace sellers that sell counterfeits. Not a new occurrence.

How does that work when it's sold and shipped by those, arent they supposed to be responsible to make sure they buy them from manufacturer/brand and sell and not mix them in with random crap they get from 3rd party resellers?

They say at one point returns are thrown in the same bin whether it was sold by Amazon or whoever, and I'm convinced they will resell as new sometimes, but according one Redditor they don't mix like that anymore. Basically everyone just have to examine, the free returns isn't a perk it's a necessity considering how they do business.
A lot of bang for the buck on these casio's. But like the posts above, be careful on the model numbers and be sure of what you're getting. I just modded a ae-1200 and think it came out great for my nephew in the Philippines.
