Probably close to 20 years ago, I offered to buy a kid a watch. She said she didn't need one as she had her phone. She's now 30 & still has no watch. Man, I remember getting a watch when I was about 10 or so, in the '50s, & it was a big, big deal back then. Now, not so much, so I suppose perhaps watches ain't selling like hot cakes these days.

I have this watch, the band is a bit shorter than the other for example the WS1300H series.

I used to have the black plastic version of this phone. What is the point of having a watch with a calculator or one that stores phone numbers, but can't connect with our phones? The display is really small, a well. Now that we have smart phones, watches like these have little use. When I want to wear a watch, I put on my Apple Watch.

I have a phone - and a watch that doesn't need to be taken off every single day to charge, nor be taken out of a pocket to tell me the time nor be taken off to go swimming or have a shower kthxbai

About 35 years ago one of my dad's brothers, the first in our family to travel to the US for work, got me the black Casio calculator watch as a gift on his return. I was 10/11 year old. Meant the world to me. Still have it ☺️

I think this shows your age. I am buying one to ditch the phone and for nostalgia.

Watches are back in vogue. A lot of people ditched the smartwatch. I'm seeing lots of analog and digital watches in the office.

I haven't owned a watch since maybe 2000, quit wearing one when cell phones got small enough to keep in a pocket. I do remember being around 8-10 and lusting after the Casios in the Service Merchandise jewelry display. I distinctly recall wanting a DBC-600 real bad. It wasn't water resistant so I ended up getting something that was (DB-30?) because I'd killed my 1st calculator watch by water, an Armitron Piano Game I think it was. I guess the generic calculator watch design of this is more recognizable, but my nostalgia side would be more interested in a remake of a classic like the DBC-600.

Yeah. I remember when the LED watches first came out. You had to press the button to see the red LEDs that formed numbers.
