imo pretend it's only a 30 day warranty from amazon. I've personally never had to use a warranty for my monitors, but $230 is still a lot and if for peace of mind, wait for a sale from samsung epp.

I was in the market for a monitor and was considering another couple KTC monitors. They offer a lot of bang for the buck in terms of capabilities. However, I ended up going with an AsRock because I found several messages across multiple boards in which KTC did not honor the warranty, often offering 10-50% off a new purchase rather than repair or replace the existing one under warranty. Warranties are always suspect from many companies (yes, I am looking at you ASUS), so maybe my pause in going with KTC was overblown.
