Opening scene is the most frustrating part of the game. They don't really explain how critical dodge mechanics are, and once you get the timing down it's not too difficult.
NieR:Automata stands out as a beautiful action game with memorable cutscenes and some of the best music in videogames. The opening is the roughest stretch, with dodge timing not explained well and death sending progress back hard, but the combat clicks once the patterns are learned. Switch 2 handheld play works well in boost mode and the game is reportedly optimized there, though controller play on a bigger screen is favored for the best first run. A strong pick for players willing to push through the intro.
Players who want a visually striking action RPG, because the cutscenes and music are exceptional and the game feels worth playing through after the opening.
Players willing to push through a rough opening, because the intro is frustrating and the first boss can send you back to the beginning before the game clicks.
Handheld-only players who want the most immersive first playthrough, because the experience is preferred sitting down with a controller rather than in handheld mode.
The opening is the toughest part because the game does not explain dodge timing well and death punishment is harsh. Setting it to very easy and pushing through the intro helps, and it becomes much easier once the mechanics click.

PS5 easily. The game is beautiful and has great cutscenes. Also the music is some of the best in the past 20 years of videogames and Im not exaggerating. I would want the best experience possible for this if I was playing for the first time again.
