This is a solid price on a CRAFTSMAN V20 4.0 Ah battery for anyone already in the V20 ecosystem, especially for tools that need a dependable extra pack. The battery gets praised for fitting well with V20 tools, and the 4.0 Ah size is enough to cover most of a lawn on a string trimmer. The deal also looks stronger with stacked coupons or by buying two singles, though a 2 pack exists for $79 and Amazon has been around $35.10. A practical add on if you want backup power without paying for newer branding.

  • homeowners who already own Craftsman V20 tools because commenters say they're "in this ecosystem" and have been very happy with V20 tool performance, making the battery a straightforward add-on.

  • people running a Craftsman V20 string trimmer for most of their yard because one commenter said their trimmer covers about 90% of their lawn on a 4.0Ah battery and that adding a second battery for about $40 is a no-brainer.

  • Milwaukee users who want to expand to Craftsman V20 at another location because a commenter said they're a "Milwaukee guy" but really like the V20 tools and will use them at their other location.

  • buyers who want to stack savings by purchasing multiple batteries at once because one commenter reported buying two and also having a random 20% coupon that stacked to improve the deal.

  • people expecting pouch-style battery tech to deliver big real-world gains because a commenter said the pouch method "apparently failed in real world work" and advised not to pay for newer branding unless you need higher-amp output.

  • people who are only shopping for the cheapest generic battery option because a commenter noted Amazon sells no-name knockoffs for the same price as this deal.

DeWalt/Stanley/Black & Decker bought Craftsman and yet we STILL don't have a power tool battery standard.

This is a great deal. I'm in this ecosystem, and have been very happy with the performance of the V20 tools so far.

It's interesting yet depressing to see that the pouch method of batteries apparently failed in real world work. It was supposed to allow you to cycle through 2x-4x more recharges. It's been dropped by Milw. Everyone is going to tabless cells by mostly one major manufacturer. Only difference is the output for heavy amp requirements. That's it. Don't spend on the new branding of any battery if you don't have to.

Im a Milwaukee guy but I really like the V20 tools and will be using them at my other location. another bonus is people think craftsman suck on the secondary market so less likely to steal.

Agree. I got frustrated with porter cable so I bought a craftsman adapter

Interesting, can you elaborate more? You mean the Dewalt XR batteries, milwaukee forge, and other new branding are tabless cells, and aren't too much better over the previous gen? (apologies if I got that wrong)

I bought two and they were delivered to me within 12 hours. I also had a random 20% coupon in my account that stacked to make this an even better deal

Awesome deal if you already have Craftsman V20 tools. My string trimmer does about 90% of my lawn on its 4.0Ah battery. Adding a second for $40 is a no-brainer.
