I have 2 of these and 4 of the monofacial. They all put out right around what they're supposed to. Bifacial, of course, does a bit better. This is a great price, even better than the deal I posted a few weeks ago.

I'm getting 2 more to complete 2 parallel strings of 48V.

Better deal if you buy 2 and use code CDUS08 for $8 off.

And yes, I trust AliExpress, like I said I have 6 panels from them already and they all work perfectly fine. Only mentioning for those that are on the fence about buying from AE, cuz I know there are a lot of AE haters out there. And no, I'm not a shill.

Serial is not ideal if you have shading. Parallel works better. If you have 4 panels in a series and 1 panel is partially shaded, the entire string is held back by that 1 panel. Since at the combined voltage, it'll only output the number of amps that shaded panel can put out. Which isn't much. You can increase output by fully covering that shaded panel so that it drops out and the charge controller adjusts to the lower voltage. With parallel that doesn't happen. The other 3 panels will still be going full bore. So I parallel when I can. Serial only if I have to.

The 100w panels keep getting cheaper and cheaper. I'd like to see larger panels come down like this.

Wow... around black Friday I got the Renogy 400W Portable Solar Panel Blanket for $380. Some reviewers claimed they slightly exceeded in direct sunlight, but I never got a chance to test that case. I shouldv'e saved my money and got these instead. But to be fair, the Renogy is 16lb while one of these panels is 14.5lb, so there is that difference. I wonder about their durability though. 25 years would be great but I'd want to be sure before installing on a roof (unless you're a DIY knowing what you're doing). Anybody here have them for years?
Renogy panels will output close to or more than their rated wattage. Eco worthy will output 50-75% of their rated wattage. My Eco worthy panels get 68% while my Renogy panels get 95%. In this case, you get what you pay for.

Just don't put that theory on paper and you will continue to feel good about yourself. The renogy panels cost at least double. So the 68% from ecoworthy price equivalent is about 47.5% with the same dollar amount of renogy.

I'm willing to pay the double since the difference in wattage occurs every single sunny day. Over many years, the difference becomes significant.

I cant use crayons here, but If you spend $31 on a panel from EW two times, it will be $62. Let's just say theoretically the renogy is $62. If you are getting 68% from the EW, then that means you are getting 136w from the $62. If you are getting 95% from renogy, then you are getting 95w from the same $62. 136w>95w. I know renogy tends to be a very high quality product, but EW has a pretty good reputation also.

Unfortunately, panels take up space in the real world. In reality, you want to buy the best panels for any given space.

Cheap low efficient panels are fine if you are just starting out into solar. But once you learn more, most people realize high efficiency is worth the extra initial cost.

Ordered 9 with the 30$ off coupon then made a second order with 8$ off of 2 Panels... These are bi-facial as long as you have some sun on both sides you will likely get the 100 watts don't let the babies put you off buying them I got mine in 5 days by fed ex last time... And as for putting them in series yes you need them all exposed to light but my inverter requires a higher voltage to start there fore I need 10 or so in parallel(10X19.5=195V) to get them working earlier in the day and later as the minimum voltage(120v to 450v MPPT operating range) drops off later if you have a lot in series!
These are Model Number: L02M100TM-1 Panels and are going for 69.99$ plus shipping on the eco worthy main site..

But you don't have to pay that much for legit 100 watt solar panels. When I got these 100w Eco-Worthy panels, they cost about as much as my JJNs. Which are the same panel as the Renogy panels but with a different frame. On a meter, the JJNs work exactly as well as the Renogys. Which means they work better than these Eco-Worthies. I only got these because they were bifacial so I hoped they would have better yield over the course of a day. They don't. It's no mystery why they are like 75% the output of other 100 watt panels. It's because they are physically about 75% the size of 100 watt panels. Thus why they are really like 75 watt panels.

You can still get real 100 watt panels for the same cost as these. So if you do the math, you are paying to get less by getting these.

You are completely right. That's why I'm getting real 100 watt panels to replace these effectively 75 watt panels. It's a waste of real estate. Also as you pointed out, any savings these panels have will be paid back shortly by getting real 100 watt panels. But the thing is you can get other 100 watt panels for the same price as these.

Can I connect 2 of these side-by-side with the existing MC4 connectors to make a single 24V unit?

They actually have a voltage of 19.7 so in series would be about 40 Volts.. You may want to rethink your application depending on what voltage your device can handle..
But to tie them together in series for double the voltage you just connect positive of one panel to negative of the next those connectors just snap together (then the left over connectors are the new positive and negatives)..

As long as real estate isn't an issue this is 100%.

What's the cheapest possible grid-tie microinverter with anti-islanding to go with these for a little balcony solar? Ideally something that can have its output set programmatically, so that I can use Home Assistant and an energy meter to keep myself from exporting
Hoymiles HN-1200 or 1500 are some options, they work with OpenDTU which pairs with HA fairly well.
