I don't see the gauge (AWG) of the cord listed in the specifications. Does anyone know?

Are these worth it? Or just another surge protector?

Joules capacity is good, but the clamping voltage is high too(which is not good). Pretty common with basic household surge protectors in this price range. People don't realize the clamping voltage is more important, which is why it's rarely advertised. They don't want you to know it sucks.

Still decent for non-electronic equipment and would protect electric motors, drills, etc..

True, but this is built for power tools, not to protect a laptop. Power tools are more likely to cause slightly higher voltage spikes which would trigger the shutoff in a surge protector with a lower clamping voltage. This appears to be a decent product for its intended use, but not a great choice to replace the surge protectors we have in our entertainment centers and home offices.

In the original post (which has been hidden by the front-page rewrite), Taco_Doomsday wrote: If your store says it's out of stock, then click the "Check Nearby Stores" link and look for the clearance icon. Then change your home store to a store that has them in stock to see the clearance price.
