Black House takes place when Jack is an adult and it has some more horror elements. They do read a bit different. I loved Black House during my first read through.

The first hundred pages are a bit of a slog and it's a bit jarring to adapt to the narration, which is told in a present tense winking sort of way. But once you get used to it the book is great and eventually ties into a lot more Stephen King stuff if that's what you're into

Good book, but don't expect Talisman-level writing. I'm curious how the third book will be. It comes out soon, I believe.

Not as good as the talisman but a good read that ties into the dark tower universe as well, can't wait for the third one coming out this year
