AOOSTAR's official website for this model says "Memory(RAM):1×LPDDR5 24GB 6400Mhz RAM channel". Does it mean it's single channel memory? Or is it a typo? Can anyone confirm?

Odd that anyone would design it with embedded single channel memory with 6850H.

Shared. The old broke distant cousin of unified memory architectures. But while the the 680M is old, it's still a really decent GPU for 1080p gaming. I had a laptop with a 680M and played all the recent Tomb Raiders and Cities skylines, etc

The previous deal on these had a guy who went deep on it and its a typo and that they register as dual channel.

I would rather get a 7735hs CPU for abotu the same price right now. BUT to answer your question....

1. It is Soldered LPDDR5 (Not SODIMM)

Unlike your other mini PCs where you might have swapped out Corsair or SK Hynix sticks, the MACO 6850H has 24GB of LPDDR5 6400MHz memory soldered directly to the motherboard.

The Bad News: It is non-upgradeable. You are locked into 24GB for the life of the machine.

The Good News: LPDDR5 is significantly faster (6400MT/s) than the standard DDR5 SODIMMs (4800 or 5600MT/s) found in most upgradeable mini PCs.

2. The "Single Channel" Labeling Trap

In marketing materials and sometimes in the BIOS, you will see it listed as a "single 24GB channel." This is technically how the LPDDR5 bus is wired, but it's misleading:

Quad 32-bit Sub-channels: LPDDR5 works by using multiple smaller "sub-channels." In this specific 24GB configuration (often using three 8GB or four 6GB chips), it provides a 128-bit wide bus.

Real-World Performance: A 128-bit bus is exactly what "Dual Channel" DDR5 provides. So, while the system might report it as a single block of memory, the bandwidth is equivalent to a dual-channel setup. You aren't losing half your performance like you would by putting a single stick of RAM into a standard motherboard.

3. Why 24GB?

This is a newer capacity trend in 2025/2026. By using higher-density memory chips, manufacturers can hit 24GB (instead of 16GB or 32GB) to keep the price down while still giving you a "buffer" beyond the standard 16GB—which is especially helpful since the Ryzen 6850H iGPU will likely "steal" 2GB to 4GB of that for VRAM.

I bought this the last time through. It worked great for a month, then it stopped turning on at all.

Figured out that as soon as I plug the power supply into the PC, the power supply would go into protect mode. Verified with a second power supply and a multimeter.

Pain in the ass to.retuen through AliExpress, I had to submit a video proving what I found before they would accept a return. They will not do an exchange, only a return/refund.

It performed well until it broke, but the return hassle isn't worth the chance. Be sure to pay for it with a credit card that will cover your ass if something happens.

Not bad for $318. 24GB RAM is good for most purposes including light gaming. The 680M is still a competent iGPU. It'll struggle with most modern AAA games past 720p, but if you keep your expectations low, it'll surprise you in some games.

LPDDR5 works differently. A single bank of LPDDR5 is dual channel. Two banks are effectively quad channel.

I am just going to put it out there... checking out Acemagic's website for deals... there laptops with a Ryzen 7 H255 (780m GPU) would cost just a little more with 16GB and 512GB AND OS windows pro 11.
Not even remotely the same use case. Completely different products for completely different shoppers.
