Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are being praised for strong active noise cancellation, rich sound, and a secure, comfortable fit, with the charging case adding battery info and settings control. The Gen 1 Costco version is confirmed here, and it does not include wireless charging. The main cautions are connection quirks, especially with multipoint or the Bose app, plus reports of a left earbud static buzz, occasional charging or call issues, and a few fit or durability complaints. A solid pick if top tier noise blocking matters more than extra features.
The earbuds deliver top-notch ANC that helps block outside sounds while focusing on music.
The earbuds hold well in the ears and provide comfortable, secure fit for listening sessions.
The sound quality is described as excellent and notably better than AirPods Pro.
Direct Bluetooth connection can work well after removing the Bose Connect app.
The charging case includes a screen that shows battery life and allows changing settings.
Connectivity can be inconsistent, and turning off multipoint may improve connection stability.
The earbuds can produce a static or buzzing sound in the left earbud when no audio plays.
Some units develop a scratchy noise after months of use, and replacements can repeat the issue.
Call performance can be poor, with others unable to hear the user clearly.
The earbuds can be slippery and may drop easily, which can lead to breakage.

How they will break: the adhesive holding the headphones together comes off and/or the sound in one of the ears goes out.

However you're getting these from Costco with their return policy.

no issues with first two. One Ultra gen 1 did stop charging (something wrong with the case) within a year and was replaced by Bose under warranty.
Ultra 1 seems confused between connecting to windows laptop or iPhone and drops. But if I only have it pair with iPhone works fine. Noise cancellation is great on aircraft.
Those are on sale for $150 at Woot right now. I have the over-ear versions from Sony and they're amazing, so leaning towards keeping it in the family for the earbuds. But don't want to spend the same for worse!

The Bose was more comfortable feel wise, but for some reason they would get pretty hot when noise cancelling was on which meant I could only wear them for an hour or so. Ultimately I went with the XM5s.
