just fyi this is the 8000 series not the base model 6000. a bit more torque and the dual blade system is a marked upgrade over the base model.

One of the best EGO mower deals you'll see all year.

Community Reviews

This EGO 8000 series mower stands out for strong cutting power, self propulsion, and a dual blade setup that feels like a real upgrade over the base model. The 7.5Ah battery is often described as good for roughly 30 to 60 minutes, with fast charging around 40 minutes, and the mower handles thick grass, weeds, and even wet lawns better than expected. The main cautions are weight and battery longevity, since it is still a heavy machine and runtime drops in dense or tall grass. A practical pick for medium yards if you value electric convenience and can work within the battery limits.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, the extra battery can reportedly be returned when bought through Amazon, and several buyers received refunds in the roughly $212-$232 range. That can lower the net cost a lot if you already have batteries or only need the mower.

    Bizkit64sleuthorsleuthorelmuchachos

  • Runtime is about 40 minutes with the 7.5Ah battery in typical use, and one report says a 7.5Ah battery covers about 1/4 acre on level ground with 3-4 inch grass. A 5Ah battery is reported to last about 30 minutes, while a 10Ah battery can handle roughly 1/3 acre of wet grass.

    Melacine1dash1peccadillot3t4

  • It can cut thick grass well, including thick St. Augustine, but wet or very tall grass can cause problems. One report says it jams 3-4 times per mow in very thick grass, while another says cutting high first and then lower the next week helps.

    ZeeOhhSixBizkit64AmusedLaborer4045

  • With a single 7.5Ah battery, it is reported to handle about 1/4 acre on level ground with manual pushing and medium-height grass. For larger yards, one owner says a 7.5Ah battery covers the front yard and about a quarter of the back before swapping to a spare.

    1dash1j0ps

  • This listing is the 8000 series, not the base 6000 model. It has more torque and a dual-blade system, which is a meaningful upgrade over the base version.

At least this comes with two batteries, but i would caution against this mower as it is easily the purchase I regret the most. The batteries barely last a month past their warranty and if you factor in the cost of a $150/$200 battery every three years, you come out way ahead with a traditional gas mower
I bet you think my EV will need a new traction battery every couple of years too?

Still using the Ego LM2135SP mower I bought March 2020 with its original 7.5Ah battery that I used to mow my lawn yesterday. I have a second 7.5Ah, two 5Ah batteries, and a 2.5Ah battery that came with other tools for free within a year of buying my mower. Only one 7.5Ah battery had issues shortly after purchase and was replaced by Ego. All of my 6+ year old batteries don't have any noticeable degradation, and I changed the battery once while mowing my yard yesterday, same as I did in 2020.

I'd love a new Ego mower with a more efficient motor and mulching performance, but difficult to justify when mine continues to work perfectly

Just discovered why: Colorado offers a 30% instant discount on new electric-powered lawn equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers, snow blowers) at specific retailers like Ace until the end of the year.Note that this does include a free battery, you just have to add it to the cart in the "special offers" section of Ace.
Crazy deal if you live in Colorado or near enough to pick one up

Factor in the oil/filter changes and cost of gas, and this is still a better deal. If I remember correctly, I got a 5 year warranty on the mower AND the battery when I registered mine. If they're still doing that, it's even better. Normal batteries are 3 years, but the 10Ah that came with the mower was 5 when I registered. Maybe it was to answer a quick 2 minute survey, but worth it.

A good deal would be $200-300 refurbished with 2 batteries. This is new price imo.

If you are willing to do some leg work, you can come out spending almost zero if you already have batteries.
700 with tax -230 battery return -250 sold battery on Facebook -80 sold charger on facebook -100 sold old ryobi mower on facebook =$40 for a new mower.
You're not selling a battery for $250 when they pop up each year refurbished for $40-80

Battery powered lawnmower? How long is the stock battery good for? I got one acre grass field to trim. Not sure this is for me
You aren't mowing an acre with a push mower...

I have had this for a year and a half, with zero issues. It had paid itself over having someone cut the lawn for me. Worth the money and the Self-Propelled feature is very handy... You may have had bad experience with batteries.

I've had the LM2135SP for a solid year and mow about a half acre (front+back combined). Doing all of it takes 2hrs or so but it leaves a great cut, and frankly I need the exercise in the Texas heat. People compliment my grass all the time. I usually mulch my grass with the mulching blade but swapping on the high lift blade takes 3mins and it bags leaves in the fall really well too.
Easy enough blades to change out, keep sharp ones on there. they're like 40-50 bucks on Amazon. It's a good size yard so I've already swapped one set. The 7.5Ah battery does all of my front side easily, and about a quarter of the backyard. I swap to a spare 5ah battery to finish the back. I also have a few 2.5Ah ones for the trimmer and blower, both also great products. Can't really think of any downsides to Ego stuff so far.

Best part of all, of course, is that's 3 less small engines fewer that I have to maintain. I'll never go back to gas unless I owned a 10+ acre property or something. Even up to several acres, there's good electric options from Ego and even Deere.

I am in CO, just ordered from ACE, $454.30 + tax/fees. Might return the extra battery as I already a few others from my snowblower.
