This EGO 8000 series mower stands out for strong cutting power, self propulsion, and a dual blade setup that feels like a real upgrade over the base model. The 7.5Ah battery is often described as good for roughly 30 to 60 minutes, with fast charging around 40 minutes, and the mower handles thick grass, weeds, and even wet lawns better than expected. The main cautions are weight and battery longevity, since it is still a heavy machine and runtime drops in dense or tall grass. A practical pick for medium yards if you value electric convenience and can work within the battery limits.
The included battery and charger setup can support practical mowing time, including reports around 40 minutes per charge and about one hour on thick St. Augustine.
The mower can deliver strong cutting power and torque compared with gas options, including a claim that it outperforms an Airens Razor.
The aluminum-deck version can avoid rust issues that affected a gas mower deck, which may reduce long-term maintenance concerns.
The self-propel feature can make a heavy mower easier to manage, with reports describing it as a beast when pushing manually.
Battery longevity can be a concern, including reports that batteries barely last past warranty and require frequent replacement costs.
Thick grass can cause clogging or jamming during mowing, including reports of multiple jams per mow on higher settings.
Battery runtime can be limited for larger lawns, including guidance that a single 7.5Ah battery covers about a quarter acre on level ground with manual pushing.
Return and pricing can be restrictive or inconsistent, including reports that Lowe's would not allow returning a separately listed 5Ah battery despite a promotional price.
