I got them last week, but the mulch pieces were really big—like large chunks of wood. I didn't like it. Yesterday, I ordered 10 bags of Scotts mulch from Walmart for $2 each, with free shipping through my Plus membership. They're 1.5 cubic feet each, and the quality is much better.

Community Reviews

Sta-Green Premium Mulch is a budget mulch deal that stands out for the 2 cubic foot bags, especially if you can pick it up or get free delivery on six bags or fewer. The larger chunks help it stay put better than finer mulch, and the colored mulch looks good around the house. The main knocks are inconsistent bag quality, with reports of mold, water damage, light black color, or chunky pieces, and delivery can be canceled when orders go past the free limit. A practical option if you want coverage and can work within the pickup or delivery rules.

I've been getting free delivery for a week now. 6 bags a day! It's free with their basic/free rewards program.

They must have changed it recently last time it was trying to charge $2.99 when I ordered over six bags now it's $39.00. Crazy. A few weeks ago it only changed from $2.99 to $39.00 when I went over a certain weight.

FWIW, if you're in their free rewards program, you may be able to get more than 6 bags delivered free - I was able to place two separate orders for 6 bags each, delivered free today.

do the pieces stay in place when it rains hard? I see pieces of mulch washed down the sidewalk when I walk in the neighborhood.

That has nothing to do with the mulch, but rather the shape/slope of the person's garden.

Tried to do two orders of 6 bags each for free delivery, and the second order went through... and was then cancelled immediately, I guess Lowes knows what's up... will order over the next couple of days I guess.
