Note that this is the "pin detent" variant 2563P-20 instead of "friction ring" 2563-20

Love the 1/2" stubby. I use this way more than my milwaukee 1/2" high torque. It's light, gets into tight spots, and has enough torque for about 95% of the stuff I need it for under a car.

This is super important. If you're a hobbyist be sure you understand this. It's not the same as a ball detect. If you use an impact socket and you align the hole with the detent as you should you will not be able to remove it without a punch or screwdriver to push in the detent.

Not necessary to align the pin. You can always add an extension with a quick connect too.

Does the pin detent more secure because you need a pin to remove the socket?

Yes more secure with Pin detent. Some Impact sockets get worn out and will slip off a hog ring head. I don't have a need to constantly change out my sockets so either works for me. As mentioned before use a short extension to bypass Pin detent torque loss should be nominal.

I wanted the ⅜ version. I guess it's a high demand tool? Milwaukee/Home Depot has the ⅜ combo deal for $250!
That's ridiculous!
