right now i just want a pack channel lock pliers. It's mostly opening stuff, like bottles of sticky stuff thats too hard to use your hands on, old pvc glue, tar bottles, garden hose stuff. I have it in the tool bag but now I just want one everywhere. I don't even need them to be really good as long as they don't keep coming apart. eyeing yard sales for a few bucks each but for a pack i could save the time browsing.

$21.99 for me, unfortunately 😑 Amazon price history shows that it falls back to $16ish for a brief period every month or so, including recently, so probably just missed it.

These are carbon steel, which means they are pretty hard metal as steels go but yes they will rust if not oiled regularly.

I have several other WorkPro pliers. You basically get what you pay for. Fine if you just need something that works and just do DIY stuff, but I wouldn't want to use them on a daily basis.

For DIY purposes, this is solid deal...much better than buying a mega pack of Pittsburgh junk. I started out with a set if Workpro hand tools and they were surprisingly good for budget-level hand tools. Once I decided to upgrade, I tried several different brands at various price points including Husky, Kobalt, Quinn, Doyle Irwin, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Icon, Klein, Channellock and Knipex. What I decided on is primarily Doyle, Icon when they are on sale, and two Knipex tools when my wife wasn't look at the credit card bill. Doyle is basically a rip off of Channellock, with what I think is actually slightly better build quality, a bigger selection of tools at a much better price point, especially when they are on sale at Harbor Freight. Icon is a ripoff of Knipex, at half the price when they are on sale. They definitely aren't as good as Knipex, but they also won't max out your credit card. The hands are made of soft feeling, which I've found to a bad design decision, as you hands can't grip as hard when you are really trying to torque something or break something loose. Knipex are the best point, but also stupidly expensive. If you find a deal from a legit seller, their Cobra Pliers, Pliers Wrench and TwinGrip Pliers are amazing. On the Cobra and Pliers Wrench, go for the 10" versions. I bought a smaller version of the Pliers wrench and they were tiny and not very useful so I returned them. Of the brands I tried, Irwin, Quinn and Kobalt were the worst. I found the other brands to be a let down at their price points, particularly Channellock and Klein.

Maybe a better question is Knipex worth the higher price? I'm sure Knipex is higher quality, but will these work fine for most people?
