I have mostly hardbacks and they weigh 1.25-1.5lbs each depending on paper quality, so filling a shelf with them would either be dangerously close or over the rated capacity: sag city.
Great deal if you're using it for aesthetics and only displaying a few books plus some trinkets or frames on each shelf, but maybe not great as an actual bookshelf.
