This is a good deal, but it's a bad PSU for any serious build.

No one buying a 9850x3D is using a PSU like this one.

Having a Microcenter is both a gift and a curse. It used to be even more tempting when we had Fry's Electronics.

Looks like you can't sync the RGB per reviews if that matters to you.

That motherboard is so mid.....otherwise a pretty good deal.

I have the 870E version which is better but honestly this one is great for gaming. Its not a budget board!

The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is a 120W-class CPU on paper, but in real use it typically pulls more like 120W to 140W in heavy all-core work, with peaks around 160W to 170W depending on the test and board limits. In gaming, power is usually much lower than that, often closer to the 70W to 130W range depending on the title and settings.

Think he was more saying its a pretty cheap PSU. 850w is on the lower side for the cpu and more than likely an 70/70ti/80 series card. Plus most people usually add more headroom. Because next Gen cards could easily require 100 or 150 more watts for the same series of cards. A more robust power supply is maybe 20 or 30 bucks more .
