Thanks OP. I'm not 100% sure if this will fit my Kobalt 80v trimmer as the model number is off, but the comments on Lowe's by others gives me hope that it will. For only $3, it's worth a shot.

You can use it on the older 80V. Just have to cut one of the little tabs off and it will only line up one way with the other tab left in place.

I heard that this bump knob assembly sometimes breaks and needs to be replaced. It is not always in stock. If you have this trimmer, buy this spare part.

Wow I have this trimmer and this piece went missing one year ago. I could not find this part anywhere including eBay. I loved the trimmer so much I ended up just re-buying the same one. This post is one year too late.
