The idea of these is great but I hear more negative than positive about them
I have one installed. It doesn't measure pressure anymore so is basically useless. App is total garbage as well.

I think smart water leaking detection devices (at 10%-20% of this price) will suffice already. Auto shutoff is great only if you don't have neighbors, friends or family nearby. Doing it insurance becomes the main reason.
Even if you are home if you have an issue during the night it will take you a while to shut off. Good luck calling your neighbor…

I've been considering getting this Yolink Automatic Water Leak Detection & Shut-Off Kit which periodically goes on sale for $228.

This is a screaming good deal. I've had this (without the leak detectors) on my Amazon list for what seems like forever and the price just seems to always just go up. In for one!

I am using a Yolink outdoor door sensor for my shed in backyard. It never never report the door status correctly

Thanks. The reviews of their water leak products are consistently so it makes me wonder if the reviewers are getting very discounted products.

Your water supply from city or rural usually has an app that will tell you about leaks but won't turn off supply

Genius. By the time someone figures out where the shutoff is, that leak will have turned into a flood. Good luck.

I have this exact auto-shutoff. Works great, and is better engineered than their bulldog valve shutoff. It uses an ac adapter and has a battery backup. The response is immediate upon notification of sensor going off.

I have the sensors and shutoff. Only the sensors were purchased on sale. Added a smart deadbolt not too long ago. Everything has been working as intended so far. My HOI did reimburse for the sensors. They would have reimbursed for the shutoff valve if I had gotten it professionally installed.

I think the big appeal to devices like this is you can shut off the water if it completely bursts, not that you just have a small leak.
You can't just shut off the water remotely without something like it, app alone isn't that useful. I can look at my water meter to find out if I have a small leak.

I brought this when my insurance agent asked me to install as my house had plumbing older than 30 years. I thought it was one great way to save on my insurance cost upfront, but paid for this around 800$ at that time thinking of long term return with insurance only to find that this shit never gives you any advantage that they claim over others. It doesn't even know to understand the gallon thats used per day. That's a basic necessity for such high price. Else you would be better off buying 100$ one in Amazon.

Just because your smoke detector tells you about fires doesn't mean you shouldn't have a fire extinguisher. Just a thought…

Which insurance companies offer discounts?
Most.

Check with carrier or agent.
They have different requirements and discounts.
Some are aholes and require professional install on something like this...essentially negating the discount for a few years especially with high failure rate.

So may make more sense to just have sensors and push notifications.

If you need to pay for the INSTALL and monthly service for insurance discounts.
It may be cheaper to get something like this from utility or moen.
