Great for a syn blend. API SP. I'd use this in older cars with no turbo or timing chain.

But all my cars do today, so I use API SQ rated with as thick as I can get away with.

Synblend... wonder what % is Synthetic. 2%? 20%? 40%?

No way to know I believe. Love when terms like this are completely unregulated.

The SP rating acts as a backstop there. Regardless it's very high quality. This is better performing than most full synthetics were required a decade ago.

Someone please help me with this. How to 'use' this if I I do not change the oil myself? Usually I take my vehicle to a nearest shop for an oil change, like Walmart Auto or Big O' tires. Would they accept this if I hand this to them or they will only use their store bought ones?

If you call around to local shops some may charge you $20-$30 if you supply your own oil and filter. The stores you mention I believe either wouldn't do it or wouldn't knock enough off the cost for it to make sense.

With all the full synthetic deals that goes around these days (not to mention Costco), it doesn't make sense to get a synthetic blend oil until it's like dirt cheap...
