I feel like this should be corded with an option to use a battery. Do they make a saw like that? Seems like a no-brainer.

The flexvolt has been that way for a while but only uses the 60v batteries and not 20v. It also has a higher price tag.

These are very efficient though... my 12 in Bosch with its 8 Ah battery will cut longer than my needs. This one advertises 400+ cuts with a single battery...

The whole point of a battery saw is portability. Besides with how cheap batteries are and if you're already invested in the Dewalt eco system, the power shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for this—do you know if this is the case for all Flexvolt tools?

I'd actually be pretty surprised if most normal people buying this saw (I feel like pros would probably want something more robust anyway) moved it much at all beyond pulling it out & stowing it—but even if they did, it's not like adding the option to use it corded would somehow hinder portability. If it lets you run the saw at max power, why not have that redundancy? It seemed like a common sense feature to me, I was surprised to find it wasn't standard.
