Anyone here made the jump from regular Kobalt Brushless line to XTR? Is performance that much better?

Compared to the original Kobalt Line they were a massive upgrade, but the problem is they haven't updated the xtr tools in like 5 years and in that time they released the third gen Kobalt lineup that bridged the gap a lot.

For the circular saws this gives you a full 7 1/4 blade versus 6 1/2, so if you need the cut size that alone is worth it. It's also cheaper than the regular one right now with this combo

I believe I have more of the early gen/original line save a few... but main thing I wish I had on my circ saw/jig saw is the dust management port

For the circular saw in particular it is a pretty big jump- going from 6-1/2 to full size 7- 1/4 and associated increase in power. There is also a difference of blade left vs blade right, but that's a personal preference thing. I have the smaller original line circ saw and it is fine for what it is. This thing will not only have a greater cutting capacity but it will be torquey-er

Which side is better for right handed ppl... I feel like it would be blade left...which I do not have lol

I have both right and left. Left is way better to see what you're doing. Right is better because for a right handed person the small part you usually cut off is to the right of the saw and the saw doesn't drop with it.
