DJI's Neo series is the perfect "gateway FPV" starter, especially this Neo-1 Combo price to obtain the Goggles N3. You use this Neo for cheap, crash-worthy step-wise learning all the way to (low-power) easy-Acro semi-true FPV, then even take the Goggle N3 for use with Avata or the 04 Air Units in freestyle (true FPV) or cinewhoop quad kits/BNF.

FWIW, "FPV" originally just meant "First Person View", but has expanded meaning in the drone world to categorized high-speed, agile, technical flying (through race courses, structures, etc).

Only the "FPV Remote Controller 3" (dual-stick) can allow for "Acro" (true FPV) mode, while the included RC Motion 3 - and the RC 2/N2 - are limited to Normal (auto) and Sport (this RC3 does have an additional "Easy Acro" mode, but you flick/click an automated sequence, so in this context, not "true" FPV):

The Neo 1/2 are cheaper gateways to FPV because these modes manage your training to incrementally mix all 4 axes (+speed)- an instant on/off "chicken switch" to enable auto-hover (via the Pause/RTH button), allowing for increasing speeds / tilt-angles in Sport, then get back to a different rush - chillin to an awesome cinematic cruise in Normal mode.

DJI's offering in the Neo 2 is an example of their unique breadth of offering in a single drone- control modes like gestures, phone-only, follow-me, Normal / Sport / Acro, while also having in their lineup/IP the higher Mini Pro and Mavic models doing serious waypoint missions and broadcast/4K live streaming.

The Avata series can _implement Acro mode due to its power / agility. The Neo lacks the power (and the turbulance-resistance) to do the typical FPV maneuvers - while the Neo 2 is faster than the Neo 1, neither has the torque/speed to do a flat horizontal barrel roll. For beginners, it can do a diving loopy barrel, so depending on your patience, limits, or a knack to tackle the steep learning curve, this might be enough:

Edit: Correction: the Goggle N3 do NOT work with the 03 Air Units, rather the Goggles 3 is the one that supports both 03 and 04 transmission systems.

I bought this kit, it's my first FPV rig, but not my first drone. For a beginner to the hobby, this is fine. Not everyone wants to whoop around with a drone. This is great for easy exploring, getting nice aerials shots, and a bit of "fancy" flying in sport mode, but just a bit.
Anyone who says you need something more to get started is being hobby-snobby.

Yes and no.
You will still need the DJI FPV3 controller to fly true fpv. Controller is about $180 to $200

For real FPV googles and FPV controller. You can try this beginner kit.

I've had quite a few tiny whoops.... great fun, more speed and agility (depending on the whoop) but i also have the neo2 with goggles3.... the stability of the signal and quality is outstanding and very immersive.... but not as agile... there are pros and cons to both.

This combo comes with the RC3 one-handed controller. It doesn't allow Acro mode, but has "easy-Acro":

I ordered one yesterday and now arrived. It is unfortunately a used one but marked as new, no manual, only plastic package. It is fulfilled by Amazon, but I'm quite disappointed...

Is this probably the best way to get a pair of goggles n3 + motion 3 remote for my Neo 2 (knowing I have to shell out another 40ish for the transceiver?)
