FWIW, "FPV" originally just meant "First Person View", but has expanded meaning in the drone world to categorized high-speed, agile, technical flying (through race courses, structures, etc).
Only the "FPV Remote Controller 3" (dual-stick) can allow for "Acro" (true FPV) mode, while the included RC Motion 3 - and the RC 2/N2 - are limited to Normal (auto) and Sport (this RC3 does have an additional "Easy Acro" mode, but you flick/click an automated sequence, so in this context, not "true" FPV):

The Neo 1/2 are cheaper gateways to FPV because these modes manage your training to incrementally mix all 4 axes (+speed)- an instant on/off "chicken switch" to enable auto-hover (via the Pause/RTH button), allowing for increasing speeds / tilt-angles in Sport, then get back to a different rush - chillin to an awesome cinematic cruise in Normal mode.
DJI's offering in the Neo 2 is an example of their unique breadth of offering in a single drone- control modes like gestures, phone-only, follow-me, Normal / Sport / Acro, while also having in their lineup/IP the higher Mini Pro and Mavic models doing serious waypoint missions and broadcast/4K live streaming.
The Avata series can _implement Acro mode due to its power / agility. The Neo lacks the power (and the turbulance-resistance) to do the typical FPV maneuvers - while the Neo 2 is faster than the Neo 1, neither has the torque/speed to do a flat horizontal barrel roll. For beginners, it can do a diving loopy barrel, so depending on your patience, limits, or a knack to tackle the steep learning curve, this might be enough:

Edit: Correction: the Goggle N3 do NOT work with the 03 Air Units, rather the Goggles 3 is the one that supports both 03 and 04 transmission systems.
Anyone who says you need something more to get started is being hobby-snobby.

You will still need the DJI FPV3 controller to fly true fpv. Controller is about $180 to $200
For real FPV googles and FPV controller. You can try this beginner kit.
