M3 - > M4 apparently is quite a bit of jump, leaves a 6yr runway for the tablet before replacing. With RAM prices being what they are, I doubt anything more than 12GB will come down to a $600 price point anytime soon. But who knows?!
That's why Windows tablets will always reign supreme. If Apple allowed MacOS on the iPad it would be a game changer
