are they actually refurbished??? Last few things I got as "refurb" were used, wiped off and put in generic boxes. Can get certified refurb w 2yr warr for 399 on the auction site, seems safer

The Philips 3200 has the Lattego system that froths and layers your milk for you for a better variety of drinks at the push of a button. They're also commonly (and currently) on Amazon as an open box for $275

Phillips doesn't service their espresso machines. I bought a 2100 new and a Baristina refurb and the Baristina had issues, Phillips replaced it without even asking me to send the other back. So maybe IF you purchase and IF you have issues, you can tell Phillips it isn't working and they will hopefully replace it with a new one like they did for me. I'm very happy with the 2100, the 3300 is the same core mechanics, with a few excess drink options I guess.

Didn't have coffee ground through? I think I've read most machines are usually tested and ran through once.

Got a refurbished (mint) model of this from amazon. Still had beans in the hopper and crazy deep scratches everywhere. Had to get a refund. I wouldn't trust these refurbished. Amazon refused to do anything about sending me another one since the price also jumped.

Learned this recently, had a Jura before and they had a pretty decent mail in service that was reasonable even out of warranty.

Tried to send my Saeco (Philips) unit in for repairs and they have no central service centers (encompass does repairs for them only while in warranty) their closest partner service center was NY and had a month + wait for service.

I guess these machines are getting cheaper and cheaper, but some are still 1k+ MSRP and I don't consider them disposable.

So just consider if it fails out of warranty it's basically trash unless you learn to repair it yourself (because repair parts are actually readily available)
