As someone who works as a lab tech making eyeglasses for a store, I'm surprised how good the Zenni prices and selection are.

I don't think people on their own will stop themselves from getting glasses too big or too wide for their eyes/face... makes them look crosseyed, and the glasses are unnecessarily heavy, but to be frank the sales associates at my store will all just say "oh those look nice!" about any pair you try on, to get you out the door faster so they can get back to doomscrolling social media. With Zenni, they have a whole thing about how to find your PD (Pupil Distance, it's critical to keep you from getting headaches or seeing double!), and if you follow their instructions they present you with a selection that fits your eye parameters. THAT's awesome... frankly my sales associates just generally arrange them by price and otherwise everything is mixed up on the wall.

Genuine RayBans, Versace, and other high end brands will still cost more (RayBans actually hold enough value to resell as used, if you felt like it), but both my store and Zenni have their "house brand" imitations that look pretty good! Our store also buys Essilor lenses... but weirdly, Zenni has a larger selection of more Transitions color tints (if you want permanent tints, I can any color for you... but I'm jealous of the G15 green Gen S transitions Zenni sells). Also, if you want transitions that change even behind the car windshield, I recommend the XTRActive lenses... I got polarized XTRActive, that's the only way to get polarized transitions, frankly they're awesome driving glasses because they cut the glare from sun reflections on other windshields so you can see if other drivers are motioning you to go ahead, or if you're fishing it cuts through the sun glare on the water and you can more easily see the fishies below. Bonus, the sky becomes a deeper blue!

But even if you're just getting glasses without transition, I recommend AR coatings. It doesn't make your view darker like sunglasses, but it does get rid of the "extra" lens flares echoing the headlights of cars as you drive past at night, and just in general it's a bit easier on your eyes.
