The Roomba j7 plus is a camera based self emptying robot vacuum that does well on hard floors and can avoid obstacles, including pet messes, while the self emptying bin and replacement parts help keep ownership costs down. Several long term reports say it still works great after years, with decent battery life and solid pickup for dust and dog hair. The main drawbacks are slower cleaning than lidar models, weaker coverage, and recurring navigation or docking problems. Some units also needed resets, repairs, or arrived with missing parts, so it is a better fit if you can live without lidar speed and want obstacle avoidance.
The Roomba j7+ can pick up most dog hair and dust from hard floors in a single pass.
The self-emptying system can help avoid frequent handling when the robot runs over nasty messes.
The unit can keep running for years and may still be going strong after about four years.
The refurbished price can be attractive for buyers already in the iRobot ecosystem with compatible third-party bags and parts.
The Roomba j7+ may still require sticking vacuum or sweeping, especially on hardwood with throw rugs.
Navigation can degrade over time, causing random stops, spinning, and missed rooms.
Obstacle avoidance claims may not prevent frequent getting stuck or getting lost, including string or strap entanglements.
Refurbished units may arrive with missing or faulty components, including a missing battery for months.

The nice thing about this one is that it will avoid objects with the camera on it. Supposedly will avoid poo, which is how one of mine ended up in the trash (couldn't get smell out of it)
