No, this has Fire OS. The Firestick 4k select and New Firestick HD have Vega OS. Fire OS is a version of Android so sideloaded apps work. Vega OS is not compatible with Android apps so no sideloading of Android apps.

No version of fire stick allows 3rd party apps. Don't buy them unless you only want what is available in the amazon store

Stop buying them until they remove the restrictions. Nvidia shield is doing the same as them and not allowing 3rd party apps

I just sold my 4k plus after the update a couple months back. It's HORRIBLE. Apps would take 30+ seconds to open, and I had to reboot it about once a week, only since they did the new update that they bragged about. Stay far away. I just bought an Onn device from Walmart and it was cheaper too.

Not true - have had 3rd party side loaded apps on my sticks for MANY years... and they still work and install just fine...
