Can anyone familiar with this explain the fine print? Would there be any issue with just cancelling before the first month ends?

Edit: Non-cancellable...doesn't seem that great unless you would really take advantage of it.

It looks like you need to stay enrolled for at least 3 months, so 2 months at full price.

I've had this for years and you only need to see an average of 2-3 movies a month to make it worth the money. If one of those is in IMAX or 3D, it's an even better deal. I get a lot of people prefer to stream things at home, but I far prefer seeing movies in the theater on a big screen. Some movies just need to be seen in a theater... scale matters.

I had the A-list after the MoviePass went out of business. The chewing, mooing, wrapping, unwrapping crowd finally got to me, though. I canceled my membership during the pandemic and don't want to renew.

Yes, you can see up to 4 movies per week (Fri-Thurs), so your 4 possible movies resets every Friday.

You can only have 4 reservations held at any given time, so you wouldn't want to reserve 4 movies far out in advance, as that won't leave any slots open for current use.

You could, for example, reserve 3 movies for July and in the meantime use the remaining 4th slot to see a movie today, and once that movie's seen book another movie into that now open 4th slot, and then that 4th slot will open up again immediately after that next movie, etc.

Also after you cancel you cannot re enroll for 6 months with the same account. I'm not sure if they track payment info.

I've had this for several years now. If you like going to the theater more than once a month, it's pretty much a no-brainer.

You can have up to four reservations at a time and can see up to four movies per week. This includes things that would normally cost more, like 3D and IMAX showings. You also get large popcorn/soda for the price of medium.

The price will vary based on what state you're in and what states you want to be able to use it in. I only use it at my local theater and I pay $19.99/month.

You only. Almost allocations will check your ID. Tickets are under your name.

What about a family Member (child without ID)?

School ID is fine, otherwise upload a photo, assuming the family member is over 13.

From AMC FAQs:

Membership is open to guests who are 13 years of age or older. If a Member is between 13 years of age and the age of majority in their state or jurisdiction, the Member, by enrolling in the Program, acknowledges that they have obtained permission to do so from a parent or legal guardian.

We will require a valid photo ID for admittance to the theatre with an A-List ticket. To be considered valid, the ID should be issued by a school or government agency, be current (not expired), and include your full name and picture. Other membership cards (such as library, Costco, etc.) will not be accepted. You must bring the physical ID card with you to the theatre every time.

Effective 5/7/25, A-List members will have the option to load an acceptable in-app profile picture that can replace the photo ID requirement. Until then, members must continue to show a valid photo ID.
