Call me a hater because my monitor is only 240hz, but I really don't get the use case. Is it really for just a tiny sliver of the population who 1) has a crazy fast GPU and 2) plays older online twitch shooters where they can actually render that many FPS and also benefit from it?

30hz to 60hz is obviously huge. 60 to 120 is nice and certainly noticeable. 120 to 240 is...good in some instances I guess. beyond that, I think we've reached massively diminishing returns. same reason we're "stuck" at 4k TVs. Am I wrong? I'm curious to hear from someone who has used one of these and disagrees.

Hater! LoL
But seriously yeah, if 240hz vs 360hz is the push point... then yeah i don't know what people are thinking.

FYI, the G61SD is only $420, and it's 240Hz, not sure what else is different though, Samsung does a piss poor job at letting you know what feature their monitors have other than the generic Odyssey line of monitors with all the fancy bells and whistles.

At qhd you can get over 300fps on a 4080super in the newest competitive shooters on lowest settings using dlss ultra perf. So that is a real group of people. A 1k gpu paired with a 450 monitor. And probably a 400 cpu

I forget which type of OLED has purple or elevated blacks based on the brightness of the room. Can anyone remind me?

I ended up purchasing this for $379.98 before tax. I asked a customer service rep to setup the cart with the monitor and they gave me an extra 5%.
