The Xbox series X launched for $499 in November 2020. With our runaway inflation, $499 in November 2020 adjusted to March 2026 dollars is $633.

While might argue that 6 year old tech should have dropped more, it's still the latest generation and we continue in times of unprecedented technology prices.

Cherry picking the deep discounts that were seen for a few days in November and a few days in December 2023 as holding those up as typical prices is disingenuous. Most of those deals were only available for a few hours/days with a limited stock at certain retailers.

FWIW, that limited edition controller is $90 on presale just about everywhere and the standard edition of the game is $70.

Since the Xbox Series X is retailing new in 2026 for $650, this is a pretty good deal if you are in the market.

I'm still using the original custome Forza controller from a few years ago so I'd like to get this one if it ever drops lower.
Wow I just found the old order confirmation and I got two Forza 5 controllers for $49 each in November 2021

$90 and it doesn't even have any in-game stuff like the FH5 controller did. I also got the FH5 controller for $50.

I pre-ordered the FH6 controller because I am part of the problem. That said, I suspect that without an any digital codes, they will probably linger on the shelves and drop in a few months.

If you refused to pay these prices, yeah the cost would fall. Why aren't you refusing? This is a ripoff combined with expensive games, paid online, and a dying brand. It's a $300 console with $30 controllers.
