Knock on wood. The only monitors or TV's I've ever had fail on me have been Samsung's. Now I'm purely Sony for TV's and Dell for monitors. Have never had a problem since.

Amazon is selling the G50F for $279.99. The main difference is the G50F has an IPS panel, whereas the G51F has a TN panel. The IPS is a marginally brighter screen but with slightly less contrast.

(Some gamers prefer the IPS panel because they are supposedly more responsive. I'm not a gamer, so I wouldn't know the difference. 1ms response time for both monitors is ridiculously fast IMO.)

I find this funny because all my friends have had Samsungs that break on them. I've always had the cheap brands but all have lasted 5+ years.
