Anker's F3800 bundle stands out as a high-capacity power station for whole-home backup, EV charging, and 240V use, with the 3840Wh battery and 400W solar panel aimed at serious off-grid power. The unit is described as not very heavy for its size, and the solar setup is framed as expandable, with much higher solar input available on this model than on smaller versions. The main knocks are price and bundle value, since the included solar panel is called out as weak for the package and the deal is compared unfavorably with cheaper Costco options. The older model status also tempers the appeal, making it feel more like a niche system than a standout bargain.

  • Tesla drivers needing a portable backup charge source, because the built-in battery can add roughly 12-15 miles depending on model.

  • Off-grid campers wanting a lighter high-capacity power station, because it is surprisingly not very heavy for its size.

  • Solar users who want expandable home backup, because the system offers 800W or 2400W solar input options for different needs.

  • Shoppers expecting a standout value bundle, because the price is not special for an older model and the package is viewed as not great for the money.

  • EV owners wanting direct solar charging into the car, because the setup may not be configurable to feed solar straight to the vehicle without using the internal battery.

  • Buyers who want a clean, no-frills package, because the bundled solar panel is criticized as junk and unnecessary.

This? https://www.costco.com/p/-/anker-...?langId=-1If so, that is roughly 1/2 the capacity, 1/2 the wattage, and doesn't do 240V. Seems like an entirely different beast.
Thx for the info! I'm still learning before I pull the trigger on one

I know I need to just spend the time to learn this on my own, but how long (in hours) will it take to charge this 3840Wh power station with the included 400w solar panel? I assume some loss in efficiency, or maybe that's 400w after loss?

Can we charge tesla with this?
Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing. With some very rough math that I'm sure is way off, the battery should be able to charge itself up like once a day, thinking 400 W for 10 hours, 4000 W hours. I know there's obviously losses and stuff. Anyways, just in optimal state, let's say that it fills itself up, and you dumped that 3840 W hours into the Tesla every day. Somewhere sunny with expensive electricity like San Diego, let's say you're saving yourself, $.30 per kilowatt hour. So, being generous and rounding up, 4 kWh per day, $1.20/day saved. So ROI or come out like pay itself off in... $2000/$1.20=1,666.667 days... 1666.667/365=4.566. 4 1/2 years. If I had to guess, various losses and inaccuracies in my calculation, that ROI is probably closer to nine years, depending on what happens with electricity prices. Sounds bad, but not horrible. Apologies ahead of time for my cringy math.

Is there anyway these units can be configured to charge an EV with solar directly - never touching the internal battery. So that would mean that all the solar would be fed to the EV rather than to the internal battery and that the EV charge amps would drop if a cloud passes by for example.

Also 800w solar input vs 2400w solar input for this one. Also expandability... there is a flavor for everyone.

I've been noticing that more often, some items will have a lot of thumbs up but in the past people haven't like them. I wonder what's going on. Newbies?
