Nice-ish deal, but the CPU itself is still a great piece of kit. Still supports DDR4 if I'm not wrong so it's good if you're putting together a new build right now
Still $100 over-priced. But if you're stuck on DDR4 and LGA1700, this is as good as it gets.
Definitely overpriced, you can almost get the 270K Plus and a motherboard for this price. I'd say if you're still on DDR4, stay with what you have until at least Nova Lake launches. Bad time to upgrade from a dead socket, to another dead socket, if you don't already have DDR5.

Agree. But if you're stuck on 1700 with ddr4 and have a lower tier cpu like a 12600k, this might be worth the upgrade if you don't plan on upgrading systems for a few years. Just depends on what your current cpu needs are. Who knows when ddr5 $ will become reasonable again and imo, 32gb should be the minimum if building new... I mean it is still a badass little chip if you know how to tweak the power settings. But yeah, its still overpriced but probably worth it to some.

Stuck on 1700 with DDR4 is a tough one. For my customers, I'd find them a 12900K for less, if they actually needed the system for productivity. For gaming, not a chance for either. Even $300 is better spent on another platform.
