Roborock refurb vacuums come across as strong cleaners for hard floors and dependable long term, with several models still running well after years and solid navigation on the Q7 and S7. The QV 35A also looks promising for busy homes, handling a small dog and messy kids well. The main cautions are weaker carpet pickup on the Saros 10R, occasional tangles from hair, socks, cables, and dresses, and some concern about Roborock support. Refurb condition can vary from clean and like new to visibly used, so the unit itself matters.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. A refurbished Q7 has been running strong for a couple of years, and another S5 Max owner says Roborock units can keep going for years with daily use. The main upside is dependable navigation and long-term durability, especially compared with basic bump-and-go robots.
Not necessarily. One owner found the S5 Max stronger and faster, while the Q7 cleaned more thoroughly but felt slower and less powerful; another upgraded from an S5 Max to a Q7 and was disappointed enough to keep the S5 Max as a second-floor machine.
Yes. A QV 35A used for about three months has been great with a small dog and messy kids, with only occasional snagging on a dress and a charging cable. It appears to handle everyday messes well as long as loose cords and clothing are picked up first.
Yes. One refurbished unit arrived looking like a manufactured refurb, clean and new, while an earlier one had water droplets and a moldy smell and had to be returned. Box damage alone can be cosmetic, but the unit itself should still be inspected carefully.
It works well on tile and laminate, but it can struggle on carpet by leaving human hairballs and long hair trailing from the exhaust. That makes it a better fit for hard floors than homes with a lot of carpet and hair.

Debated on the Saros 10R refurb but at almost $300 more could not justify it the cost difference. A lot of YouTubers place the x50 at the top for 2025.
X50 for $500 hard to beat and with 2-year Allstate warranty.
I would buy the Q7 again.

The second one I received definitely looks like a manufactured refurbished (looks new and clean).
Which Dreame model and how do you like it? My Roborock Qrevo Master broke sent it in for All State warranty and they refunded me. I ordered the X50 refurbished and waiting on receiving it.

I did the same exact upgrade last year and was dissapointed in the q7 comparatively. Not bad, just not as good.
Ended up with a s8 pro ultra refurb later, but that s5 max still rocks as a second machine on another floor. Q7 was given away.
