This is for folks that don't like the smell/taste of lighter fluid. I find the chimney starter just as fast or faster, cheaper ($13 and it will last a decade), and avoids any chemical smell. Well worth it.

This is the way. I've had mine since grilling became my pandemic lockdown hobby. Rained on. Tossed around. Kids stepped on it. Still going strong.

Pro tip: make sure you're using it on top of the main grate. High flow of open air needed (like an actual chimney) or it won't get enough air to work. Coals will not stay lit—you will be upset and cry. You..not me... I'm a man!

Mine still looks good and I've had it for three years. If you have a Weber Go Anywhere grill it fits inside if you cut the grate in two pieces.

I've had the regular-sized one for 13 years, using it 2–4 times per month. Now it's time for a replacement since it's falling apart, but this compact version makes me think I might need two.

Great quality on these. These hold about 1/2 a full chimney. Great if you are using a smaller Smokey Joe or doing low temps on the regular kettle where you don't need a full load.

Really, really helpful. Mine has lasted for a few decades. So $13 is a worthwhile investment.

Never found a need for one of these, but then I only use lump/cowboy charcoal. I burn a charcoal fire every single morning year round and just light it with a little lighter fluid and let it go. Lump charcoal sucks the fluid in like a sponge.

Yes....this would be a full load for the smaller Smokey Joe or if you were doing something low temp on the 22in.

This would be perfect for quick cooks like burgers or hotdogs. You can always add more coals on top of the pile after you dump it out if you are doing a larger cook or need to control your temp for a longer time.

Got a diff brand of these and they're great. So much easier and don't need to use any fluid to get it started.
