Hmm, good call. I compared the spec sheets and they appear to be the same. The main difference is the Kaiju aesthetic. Still think it's a neat novelty, especially, if you don't already have the Hammertone Distortion pedal.

Very cool graphics, but if it is the Fender distortion pedal inside it wasn't good at all. Their product development team is so hit and miss. The Shields Blender and the gold Switchboard are amazing. Some of their larger ones like the compressor, marine layer reverb, and MTG tube distortion are also awesome. This budget line of hammertone pedals is mostly a miss. Supposedly, they have a new CEO. I hope they improve the pedal lines.

Their Downtown Express bass pedal is dynamite. I have also heard their other pedals receive mixed reception

I thought it should be made in Japan, but, apparently, it is not. It isn't stated anywhere and some ebay listings indicate country pf origin as China.
