Cool e-motorcycle. If you live in a state where people are tired of motorcycles masquerading as ebikes, don't be surprised if cops want to chat. (CA, NJ, NYC, IL, MN, MA)

See, there are pretty much zero ebikes with dual motors that are legally ebikes, since the legal limit is 750W. So that front motor is a dead give away to any cop who needs to meet a quota.

Also GET 8% OFF YOUR FIRST ORDER pops up if giving them your email.... does it stack?

Where I live the police can't even be bothered with minor traffic accidents and homeless people plugging up intersections. Doubt this is going to attract any attention.

Ive ordered a couple of cheap e bikes from Gleeride from previous slick deals before ($2-300), and they were fine. Well worth the price. Not sure if this higher end bike would be the same value or not tho.

Indeed, CA police should be focusing on real crime and preventing the ever invasive homeless creep into civilization, not hassling kids enjoying what little freedom remains them and is rapidly vanishing.

I ordered the little folding bike from gleeride like a year back that was on SD, it came in perfect condition quickly and I rode it around a bit before selling for a little profit. So Gleeride ime was fine.

People who find it so easy to dehumanize and talk about other people like trash, are probably riding these things were they already know they shouldn't because they think their own freedom is unassailable and above the fray. Mad
Kids are getting seriously hurt by riding these ebikes and escooters on a daily basis.
People get involved in accidents and get dragged in courts and are full of trauma for life, when all of this could be avoided on the daily too.

If you want your kid or yourself to ride a 2000W or even a 10000W eMoto, there are tracks for you to do that legally. Not on the streets my "friend". That's against the law.
So, chilax on your "imaginary crimes", and recognize that your freedom to ride that sh!t on public streets, sidewalks and trails, is a known misdemeanor. Being homeless, isn't.

Operating without a license can lead to significant penalties, including vehicle impoundment, hefty fines, and potential misdemeanor charges.

"Invasive homeless creep into civilization."

The problem with society is that you can just openly dehumanize people like that without getting punched in the throat.

Oh wow, a tough guy on the internet. Homelessness brings rampant crime and open air drug abuse. It's not "dehumanizing" to tell the truth lol.

I have a much more powerful dual motor ebike. Over 3k miles in NJ. Have a home in OC. Toughest laws in the country. I use the power when appropriate and it's absolutely necessary to tow my dog esp for many miles along long ex railroad trails. I'm all about laws but they should just follow cars and be about speed and age etc. If you ride responsibly, no one will ever bother you, especially if you're an adult.

Thanks for being part of the problem. It has pedals and a working gearing system. Since it can be pedaled, no, it's not an e-motorcycle.

You sound like my grandpa. "Bread should cost a nickel! If it has pedals its a bike! My pediatrician gave me my first cigarette!"

He died in the 80s. Which is relevent because that's when moped/motorcycle laws closed the "pedals" loopholes adter manufacturers put pedals on 125cc motorcycles and kids started dying/killing people.

Then the laws limited moped to 50cc or less and motorcycles had >50cc, even if it had pedals. And anything with a motor was a moped.

The laws changed again in the 90s when manufacturers made high-efficency 50cc motors that had >3hp and the laws changed to be speed/horsepower based. So for the past 30-ish years most states set the motorcycle/moped limit at if a vehicle exceeds 30mph or 2-3hp.

The ebike laws were supposed to carve out a legal area *below* moped at <1hp and <28mph. But then manufacturers today acted like the ones in the 70s and 80s and slapped 3-5hp motors on a thing with pedals and we have kids dying and/or killing other people.

La plus ca change....

So...pedals are not a way to avoid being a motorcyle/moped.
