Alienware Aurora pairs an Intel Ultra 9 285K with an RTX 5080, so the strongest appeal is high-end gaming and workstation performance in a compact prebuilt. The 5080 is called a big upgrade, and the CPU is described as especially strong for productivity, rendering, and AI tasks. The main knocks are Alienware proprietary motherboard, case, and PSU parts, limited ventilation, and only two RAM slots, which makes future upgrades less flexible. Past prices around $1,900 to $2,100 also make the current tag feel steep, especially against cheaper Micro Center and Costco alternatives.

Do you mean it was better when my 386 PC was 2k from Sears?
yeah... that's the same thing.
i remember going to computer shows and getting "deals" on HDDs for 100$/G. but that's hardly relevant in todays stupid market of AI nonsense driving the cost of home computing through the roof.

Not much difference between 5070 Ti and 5080 except for the price.
Either way you're playing the silicone lottery. 5070ti are just low binned 5080 chips.

Why is it that the ACT1250 is the only Alienware desktop that ever goes on sale? I think I saw the area 51 go on sale a few months ago.

Optimized for all gamers. The Alienware Aurora Gaming Desktop features incredible performance boosts and focuses on reducing acoustics while maintaining airflow. Making it a perfect gaming system for any setting with purpose-built legend 3 design.

On sale for $2399.99. I know the Aurora is not standard ATX, ram is 5200 vs 6000, replacement options can be finicky, but a RTX 5080, top tier Intel, 32GB ram. Not getting much cheaper than this

Not really deal when Microcenter has 5080 Zotac/PNY $1270 and Ultra 270K Plus bundles same 24 cores and faster for Gaming $599.99 include 32GB DDR5/Z890.

Paying $530 for 2TB/PSU/Case/AIO. Which can be bought for less then $500 and will have Retail Parts instead of Alienware Proprietary Components.

This was $2,200 2-3 months back. Don't think prices are coming down if you need a computer.

I really like mine...then again I've had it about a year and paid more than $500 less than this. Is a great machine though...and I doubt it's going to get a whole lot cheaper soon.

shit cpu only 8 core
I suspect you were trolling or don't know what you're talking about. Performance wise, which cpu is faster depends on the use case.

If you're using it for productivity, work purposes or rendering, more cores would be to your advantage.

However if you're a gamer the 9800X3D will be significantly faster due to having more cache, 3d v-chache, and faster single-core performance which is what most games depend on.
