The IE, despite being the same price as a 255, is more rugged, but has a worse battery, smaller screen, standard GPS (255 has multi-band GPS), and very basic training metrics. The 255 also has optional on-board music storage and will connect to wireless headphones via bluetooth. Despite being made in 2022, the 255 remains the GOAT for price/value.

I have the 3 Solar. I'd pass on the E. No solar, no flashlight, no Garmin Pay and worse battery life. More like an rebadged Instinct 2. But if you have small wrists, it may fit better.

I get 28 days on my instinct 2 though. It's more like an rebadged first gen

I have the Instinct 2X solar and love its features and ruggedness, but man is the watch face kind of big. Always reminded of that when I swap out my 38mm Apple Watch. Great watch though, just wish i would've got a bit smaller watch face.

I started out with an Instinct 2S which is 40mm, the same size as my Galaxy Watch 7. The display is just too small on the 2S plus the contrast isn't as good as the 3 Solar. My 3 Solar is 45mm and now i look at the GW7 and it seems small. Not sure I'd want to go bigger tho.
