I loved this game on N64, but $50 on sale and $60 RRP for a 2 hour game is a bit steep.
A 2-hour game *with multiplayer*: online, local, and online/local GameShare. Hopefully there are a few more surprises post-game. I do like the challenge mode, so you don't have to do a whole playthrough just to get to that one level.
I'm definitely rolling my eyes that they re-made this game again rather than coming up with something new. I'm not sure I want to pay for this game for the 4th time (N64, Virtual Console, NSO--there was also a 3DS and Wii U version as well, but I didn't play those).
...BUT that multiplayer looks promising, and it is quite the visual upgrade.
I will wait until closer to release to make a final decision (leaning toward yes), and I'm definitely in the digital camp, since that lowers the friction for jumping in to a multiplayer match without fiddling with cartridges. Here's hoping they add a bit of extra content.

Agreed. Perfect game for a rental. Hopefully we'll see a price drop at some point. I'm going to hold out for now.

Why not both?
We're doing remakes more and more and i feel like some games don't need to remade again. We're taking the lazy and cheap way out and not being creative in the story telling department. Im still waiting since 2005 for some answers from star fox assault. What's going on with the star wolf team with just wolf, Leon and panther. Did peppy fully retire?

True. I couldn't remember how much N64 games used to cost so I did some googling. Apparently the N64 version had a retail price of $79.95 partially because it included the rumble pack.

I don't think this was everywhere. I remember places like Sears having those $80 prices, but we always went to ToyRUs instead because they were much cheaper. New N64 games were consistently $60 while PS1 games were $50.
Fun fact: the Starfox 64 demo kiosks had the full game but reset every hour. We did speedruns to finish the game before it reset.

I would rather see a new star fox game but if this doesn't get enough support that won't happen...

$49.99 plus tax with rumble pack at Kay-Bee toys. I bought the N64 because of this game and i don't regret it...but seeing the new version just makes me sad. They did Fox Dirty for 30 years and THIS is how they try to make up for it?
