imo it's more by stages. Most app like these are good to kickstart the art. and it doesn't matter too much which ones they all have some good some ok parts and some bad ones. It's to motivate you into the art of "pianoforte", something on the "to do" checklist.
After 2 years or so, you might decide to move on to something structured (method) book series, preferably with piano teacher unless you are studious enough to dedicate yourself to take this to next level. However there there are many pitfalls that having a teacher can be very helpful. keep that until you hit the almost endless intermediate stage that last for like a decade. This is where most ppl end up. Your audience generally are ppl who don't know piano and you want to display and strut some more stuff. Or you perform recital for the group your teacher sets up to show off how much effort you put in. Keeps you motivated enough to stick with it.
Lastly, if u reach the last stage you go advance. Professional who practice 4-8 hours a day. You know your stuff. Seldom anyone gets here, it's some sacrifice and going for a living. Not many can do so and maintain this as hobby while getting real job (paying one). Side gig more realistically. Maybe you become a teacher to stay afloat.
