This Craftsman 256 piece mechanics set looks best as a basic starter kit for home, garage, or truck use, with the 2 drawer box making it easier to store and carry than bulkier cases. The assortment covers most typical home mechanic jobs, and the lifetime warranty and long history of Craftsman tools add reassurance. The main limits are that much of the count is specialty bits and hex keys, the largest socket tops out at 21 mm, and it is not Versastack compatible. It is a practical everyday set if you do not need a full no skip socket lineup.
