I know you don't HAVE to tip, but isn't that kind of a downside compared to prime?

Walmart Express Delivery is framed as a fast option for groceries and other delivery orders, with same day or next day shipping available on many nonperishables when a local store carries them. It can also help avoid the $35 minimum by pairing a small item with grocery add ons, and Walmart Plus or InHome can remove tipping or use screened Walmart employees. The main drawbacks are frequent cancellations, limited hours, and promo codes or the $10 charge sometimes failing to apply. It feels most useful when speed matters and the local store can actually fulfill the order.

  • Walmart InHome Plus Up can eliminate tipping by using Walmart employees for deliveries.

    avalonavalon

  • The express delivery promo applies to delivery orders like groceries, while most non-perishables can ship instead.

    SpEddie

  • Filtering by Walmart as the retailer can help avoid third-party sellers during checkout.

    SpEddie

  • Walmart+ prescription delivery can be positioned as cheaper than driving when gas costs are high.

    Norwester

  • Free shipping options without tipping may be canceled more often when delivery orders are not available nearby.

    deadgnatajtheavguy

  • Delivery orders may still involve an expectation of tipping even when the app allows selecting no tip.

    FancyTable532FancyTable532

  • The promo can fail when the checkout shows a promo code applied but the $10 charge never gets removed.

    FancyTable532

  • The free first express delivery offer can be unusable due to limited hours and other restrictions.

That's only for delivery orders like groceries. For most non-perishables, you can just choose shipping and if a local store carries it, you'll get in same day or the next day.I always filter by Walmart as the retailer to avoid all the third-party junk. Amazon makes it a hassle to filter third-party sellers out.

Very good to know. Thought the only delivery method was independent, not a national courier. Thanks and repped.

if you add on the InHome Plus Up for $40/year
there is no tipping and delivery is done by actual walmart employees who are actually screened with background checks

I guess it's ok if you need something right now and willing to tip versus Walmart+ most deliveries are free and no tipping involved.

They (Walmart+) have "free" delivery on prescriptions too. Round trip to Walmart is a 25 mile trip for me. Instead of burning a $5+ gallon of gas I can tip a driver $4 and take a nap on the couch.

Back that opinion up! I've tried a simple order of Coca-Cola and some household goods and the orders been canceled twice it's like the drivers don't want to do small orders.... By contrast I've never had a problem with Amazon

I have had similar issues with walmart+. An order is only available for free shipping(as opposed to delivery from store where you need to tip) if there is a delivery order in my area. But since you don't tip with a free shipping order, it often gets cancelled.
